5 Easy Simple Ideas to Drink More Water Every Day

For real it’s water!!
Maybe water, maybe not!!!

Why is it the one thing that would be so beneficial to our health, weight loss, skin, energy, and so many more benefits, we don’t do as much as we should?

And that’s DRINK 💦 !!
Sure we may have a cup here in there but seriously we need half of our body weight in ounces of water a day.
That’s a lot of water!!!

150 lbs = minimum 75 oz of water per day!!
So you really have to think, being really intentional, about it to get it all in!!
And it gets so boring and we forget!!

These little lemon packets really help!
I got a big box from amazon, True Lemon Packets, you can find them HERE, to help change up my water!! I also carry around a large water bottle everywhere I go.

5 Easy Simple Ideas to Drink More Water Every Day

1.  Flavor your water by using fruit to infuse the water.
The easiest way I found to do this get some large mason jars, add your fruit of choice, fill with water, and store in fridge.  You can add fresh fruit (grapefruit, strawberries, lemon), veggie slices (cucumber, ginger, celery), and herbs (basil, mint, lavender) into your mason jar.  The time for infusing is up to  you, depending on how flavored you would like your water.

2.  Create a habit you can rememberer that makes you drink your water.
For example, you have to take a drink of you water before looking at your phone.   Even better chug it!!   For real, if we are only taking sips here and there we will never make our daily quota of water!!  So force yourself to chug some of your bottle before you let yourself look at your phone!!   Think about how many times a day do you pick up the phone!   Create a reminder on your screen so that as soon as you pick up your phone you read 'Girlfriend did you drink your water?' if you didn't put me down until you do!!'  We often need daily reminders for things for our own self-care, health, & wellness!
3.   Keep a gallon jug nearby.
How many of you suffer from 'out of sight, out of mind!!'?  This is totally me.  If I don't see it, I don't remember.  I often write myself notes or I drive my daughter crazy because there is always things sitting out because if I put them away I forget I'm supposed to do something about it!!    The same goes with water. We often don't remember how much we are supposed to drink! It’s easy to remember to fill up on water when the source is nearby. Keep a gallon jug at your desk, by the bed at home, and on the kitchen counter as a constant reminder to drink up. The more you have to look at that water jug, the more you'll remember to fill it and drink it.
4.  Use a marked water bottle.
There's something about seeing my progress as I go that really encourages me to keep going. Having a fun, visual way to see that my effort is adding up is just about the best way to get me to stick with something.
  • Try a fun, colorful water bottle that has the ounces marked.
  • I've tried wearing bracelets on one arm and moving them to the other arm as I've drank the designated amount of ounces. Ex:  one cute beaded bracelet = 25 oz., once I've drank 25 oz., the cute little bracelet gets moved to the other arm or taken off!
  • The ideas are endless here, the point is to make it like a fun game or reward system for yourself!
5. Set an alarm
Back to our handy dandy phones,  set reminders on your phone to drink water!  Like at the end of every hour set an alarm and drink 10 ounces of water!   When the alarm goes off, chug!!!
